Board Member Responsibilities

Attendance and Participation

Members are expected to:

  • attend each meeting of the Board of Directors; if a member can't attend, she or he should notify the Board Chair in advance;
  • be an informed participant, read all advanced materials written or on weft-b, and be willing to engage in civil and useful discussions and decision-making;
  • take on administrative Board tasks such as actively participating on a Board committee, serving as an officer, etc.;
  • become familiar with the Board's SOP;
  • manage one smaller Fund-Raiser per year and participate in WEFT Annual Fund-Raisers;
  • Use proper netiquette on WEFT-b mailing list and all WEFT communications.

Fiscal Health

The Board is responsible for the fiscal health of WEFT, Board members are expected to lead in the development in plans to raise funds for the station.

Volunteering

Board members are expected to spend additional time volunteering for WEFT activities or otherwise promoting/enhancing the image of WEFT.

For example, members might help with pledge drives, participate in mailings, or other station based needs, and suggest ways to reach out to different parts of the community to increase the listener and member base of WEFT.
