4/5ths of the Peppermill String Band

L to R: Roger Diggle, Kathleen Everingham, Bruce Williams, & Dave Nelson, (circa 1981.) This was the original Peppermill, that also included George Lowrey (not shown.) Roger helped found WEFT; learned to call contra dances from George. He now lives in Madison, WI; over the past 18 years he's called dances in more than 25 states and been a staff caller at workshops and dance festivals coast-to-coast. http://www.fnal.gov/orgs/folkclub/people/jj.html Bruce Williams worked in in electronics at U of I. Active in International folk dance, he was instrumental in forming Peppermill. Expanding his talent for woodworking,he built many fine, beautifully-handcrafted hammered dulcimers over the years. C-U native Dave Nelson played bass with many bands; back in the day he was always disappearing to go fishing; now he works for the U.S. Govt. Fishing Services in the Pacific Northwest. Peppermill's personnel shifted through the years, and it's name along with it, to Prairie Homestead,& ShakeRag Bridge. It has at times included Kathi Murphy, Brent Martens, Colin McCoy, Todd Kinney, Michael Shapiro, Francis Bray, Jordan Kaye, Randy McCabe, and Jim Eyman. I seem to be the common thread. I currently play in Big Bluestem string band: http://www.bigbluestemstringband.com/blogs/
