Friday Forum Lecture Series

During the academic semester, this hour on WEFT is a broadcast of the lecture (and Q&A as time permit) from the previous Friday Forum lecture at the University YMCA's Latzer Hall. During university breaks and summer, this hour is Alternative Radio (see Saturday morning schedule).

Prairie Grassroots produced and hosted by Lori Serb has been airing the voices of local community members and broad coalitions working at the grassroots level since 2003. Prairie Grassroots is committed to broadcasting issues and points of view that offer critical analysis on race, class and gender ignored by mainstream media.

Womyn Making Waves
Independent music, news, poetry, and performance with wmwweft on Sunday 1-3pm.
Started in 1981, Womyn Making Waves is one of the oldest programs on WEFT. The show hosted by a collective; an ever-growing group of women dedicated to bringing independent music, news, poetry, and performance to women in east central Illinois. The show features live interviews and performances with local women as well as women from around the world. All genres of music are played and each member of the collective contributes her unique perspective and taste in music. The work of activists and music by lesbians is a regular part of most programs.
