Womyn Making Waves
Independent music, news, poetry, and performance with kittent on Sunday 1-3pm.
Started in 1981, Womyn Making Waves is one of the oldest programs on WEFT. The show hosted by a collective; an ever-growing group of women dedicated to bringing independent music, news, poetry, and performance to women in east central Illinois. The show features live interviews and performances with local women as well as women from around the world. All genres of music are played and each member of the collective contributes her unique perspective and taste in music. The work of activists and music by lesbians is a regular part of most programs.
The Grateful Dead Hour
Variety with on Saturday 8-9pm.
Syndicated program from original community radio station KPFA in Berkeley CA, hosted by David Gans. Music by and interviews with members and friends of The Grateful Dead, frequently including unreleased recordings from the Dead's own vault. La Voz Latina
Music and issues in the Latino community with on Saturday 3-5pm.
A great blend of music from Latin America, plus issues facing our local Latino community. Also features from the locally produced program Horizons, and the nationally-syndicated Latino U.S.A.
Urban Rhythms
Urban, soul, R&B with on Saturday 1-3pm.
Jammin' the best in contemporary urban music, "the music we grew up listening to". The best in R&B, Classic soul, Dance, and Variety. Music for the Soul!
Also, tune in on Sunday 4:30AM-6AM, when Master D rounds out the night with the Best of Bubble City Soul.
Mah Na Mah Na
Children's music with on Saturday 8-9am.
WEFT's children's music show, originated by the father/son combo of Mark and Travis Morenz and now co-hosted by Kyler (Trav's little brother). Other (sometimes) hosts include: Ed "Crazyhawk" Mandel, Jill Morenz, Gale and Valentina Stafford, and Mr. X (!!)
On the air since February of 2004-- Think "Mister Rogers" meets "Doctor Demento": A fast paced combination of children's and novelty songs, playful parent/child banter, live guests, contrived comedy bits, and other fun stuff!
