Donating to WEFT

WEFT relies on financial support from its members to put high-quality community radio on the air. Every dollar donated goes directly to purchasing new and gently-used equipment, paying the electric bill, and other resources needed to maintain and upgrade the station.

WEFT recieves its support from numerous sources, including grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Each of these grants contributes less than 10% of our yearly budget, so we also seek finanicial support from our community.

Pledge Drive

Pledge drives make up around 60% of our annual budget. We have pledge drives twice a year and it is a great time to become a member!

WEFT is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, which means that in addition to supporting WEFT, your donation is tax-deductible.

Community Shares of Illinois

Community Shares of Illinois (formerly PIFI) is part of the National Alliance for Choice (NACG) and makes up around 10% of our annual budget. Read more about Community Shares of Illinois.

Underwriting and other local business & organization support makes up a bit below 10% of our annual budget.
