Volunteer

Unlike commercial or most public radio stations, WEFT is run largely by volunteers. While we have a small paid staff, most of the station's work is done by volunteers, often in the context of working on a committee. You can join most committees by simply showing up for the meetings and helping with the work. Use the Event Calendar to find out about upcoming meetings.

At most times, the station has about 100 volunteers. Volunteers have duties ranging from painting walls to installing satellite dishes, from organizing WEFT Fest to delivering the WEFT Revue, from communicating with music labels to maintaining this website. Feel free to contact individual volunteers regarding the various committees at WEFT.

Maintaining a solid base of volunteer work is a prerequisite for WEFT's continuing success. It is also every Airshifter's responsibility to continually participate in station activities.
