Subscriptions

You can use subscriptions to get email notifications about updates to topics that you have commented on. Once you have logged in, go to your user page and click on the link under your login name titled "Edit". About half way down the page, you'll see a section titled "Subscription settings" that you can use to automatically subscribe you to topics you participate in.

You can also subscribe to individual topics by clicking on the "Subscribe post" link at the bottom of the first post in the topic.

To manage your subscriptions, head to your user page, click the link near the top titled "Subscriptions", and fiddle with the checkboxes.

Blocks

Blocks are the fancifully colored rectangles you see on the left. Did you know you can pick and choose which blocks you see? In particular, there is a block for new forum topics and one for active forum topics, as well as a block for recent coments. You can use these to keep up with what's going on in the forums.

Just go to your user page, click the "Edit" link near the top, and scroll down to the section titled "Block configuration". Check the boxes for the blocks you'd like to see, and save your preferences!
