Show Description

Straight from Ganja Mountain, this show seeks to connect the Cross-cultural Revolution with reggae music coming straight from Jamaica.  Chef Ra started Roots, Rock, Reggae a song by Bob Marley and The Wailers  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMBlMMGxfpw) back in the days when WEFT broadcast on cable TV prior to hitting the airwaves on September 26, 1981.  Ra single-handedly brought Reggae music to the cornfields and prairies of East Central Illinois, playing roots, rock steady, dance hall, dub, Bob and Rita Marley and The Wailers, Peter Tosh, Steel Pulse, Third World, The Gladiators, Lee Scratch Perry, and more.  His legacy lives on through the longest running show on WEFT 90.1FM, after his earthly passing to the Spirit of Jah and the Liberated Zone on December 26, 2006.
