This program is currently unscheduled.

Radio Liberacion airs every second Sunday of the month, 10am-11am.

LIBERACION! is an hour-long public affairs show that integrates commentaries, interviews, and music about a variety of international issues that are of significance to people in the United States. The program is hosted and produced by Antonia Darder, professor of education and Latina/Latino studies at UIUC, along with a radio collective of graduate students dedicated to working on a variety of social justice issues tied to globalization and its impact on social and material relations around the world. Episodes will be produced in the WEFT studios and will include both pre-recorded and live material, depending on the issues being discussed.

LIBERACION! provides the WEFT audience with access to people and perspectives rarely heard on the corporate-sponsored media stations. This includes independent and international educators, grassroots activists, artists, workers, and independent analysts who are working on issues that impact both the local and global conditions in which people are struggling to exist today. Whenever appropriate, LIBERACION! attempts to create the conditions for healthy debate among different voices working on similar issues who might disagree in method but ultimately hold a similar vision for social change. The program broadcasts in a multilingual format, as appropriate to the focus of each segment. The purpose here is to support a growing acceptance of multilingualism within the United States.
