Committees and Workgroups

Most committee meetings are open to anyone who wants to attend. Dates and times for committee meetings are posted on the bulletin board in the front lobby and announced on the WEFTi Mailing List.

Discussion requests should be submitted to committees in advance. Membership may depend on skill level and demonstrated committment. Some active working committees include:

• The Airshifter Training Committee trains airshifters in the basics of both station culture and policies as well as the technical aspects of hosting a show. Meetings on as-needed basis.
• The Associates Executive Committee facilitates station-wide meetings and business of the Associates in general. Meets once a month.
• The Building Committee organizes and implements repair and upgrade to the WEFT building itself and interior space. Working meetings scheduled on as-needed basis.
• The Engineering Committee assists the Chief Engineer with equipment maintenance, repair, design, and installation. Working meetings scheduled on as-needed basis.
• The Music Committee tracks music logs, reports to record companies, and maintains the music library at WEFT. Meets every third Monday of the month.
• The Programming Committee makes decisions as to what's going out over WEFT's radio waves. Meets Tuesdays on the second and fourth week of each month.
• The Public Relations Committee coordinates promotional activities for all committees and Fund Raisers, PR events, T-shirts and the WEFT Revue program guide. Meets on the first and fifth Thursdays.
• The Website Workgroup develops and maintains WEFT's website and other aspects of its Internet presence. The Webgroup does not hold regularly scheduled meetings.
  

Some committees are provided for in the By-Laws or Standard Operationg Procedures. Others may be formed ad hoc with approval, and standing committees can always assign tasks or projects in their purview to willing volunteers.
