June 2008 Board Election - Candidates

WEFT Board of Directors Membership Election deadline for candidacy is now closed. Unless we have any last-minute, appropriately post-marked entries, there are three candidates (in order of entry): Harry Washburn, Jeff Brandt, and Randall Cotton.

There are three open seats: two two-year terms and one one-year term. Just because there are three candidates and three open seats, candidates do not automatically get a seat.

Ballots will be mailed in early June. You will see that by each name there will be three choices: "For," "Against," and "Abstain." A "For" vote counts as +1. An "Against" vote counts as -1. An "Abstain" vote counts as zero. A candidate must have more positive than negative votes to gain the seat. Candidate terms will be based upon positive vote totals with the top two candidates appointed to two-year terms. More details will be provided along with your ballot.

The on-line candidates’ forum will be open on May 18 and accessible from this page. There you will be able read the candidate's statements and post questions to the various candidates.

Special Board of Directors Meeting on FY 08 Budget

The Board of Directors will be holding a special meeting on the Fiscal Year 2008 budget on Monday, Sept 10 at 7:30 PM, in the Boundurant Room at the Illinois Disciples Foundation, 610 E. Springfield Ave, Champaign.

Only the budget will be considered at this meeting.

The WEFT Board of Directors will be having a special meeting on Monday, Aug. 6 at 7 PM, in the Bondurant Room of the Illinois Disciples Foundation, at the corner of Springfield and Wright in Champaign.

This meeting is to address a legal matter, and therefore will be held in closed session. A short public comment period (10 minutes) will precede the closed session.

WEFT Board of Directors Study Session: FY07-08 Budget

This is a special public study session of the Board of Directors focusing on the WEFT budget for the upcoming fiscal year. WEFT's bookkeeper will be in attendance in order to explain the budget and its categorization system, and to take questions.

This is not a regular or special meeting of the Board, therefore no business will take place.

Interested persons and members of the public are welcome to attend and participate, provided that individual respect is given and maintained.

WEFT Webcasting Study Session

Come join us for our study session about getting WEFT back on-line with webcasting. We want your input about what it will take for us to reach that goal. We will be discussing all the various aspects of WEFT webcasting including hardware, software, policy, and the like.

All are invited to attend. Committee chairs are particularly encouraged to attend this meeting since this project will involve many different WEFT committees. A report of this study session will be presented to the Board.
